Avi Love

"I'm mixed with a little bit of everything," pornstar Avi Love once said. That's true not only of her lineage - which includes Filipino, Creole, French, German and Indian ancestors - but also of the versatile onscreen talents that have seen her come from modest roots all the way to AVN-winning stardom.

Love was born in Carson City, Nevada, just a few hundred miles from the city she would call home when her porn career kicked off. "I was doing some modeling out here in Vegas. I was working a front desk job and I was online looking for ways to make more money. Then I found on Craig's List, a nude modeling post. I went for it and they introduced me to a porn agent. I thought, 'Why not? Let's do it!'" she told Adult DVD Talk's Captain Jack. Her first scene with a boy/girl shoot with Ryan Driller and Naughty America. It would only be the beginning! In a career that now spans dozens of scenes, Avi considers her double anal shoot to be her wildest on-set experience.

Love dazzled the porn world in 2018 with her blockbuster performance in The Possession of Mrs. Hyde. In the title role, Love was asked to embody a conflicted character who finds herself yielding to surprisingly aggressive inner demons after she ingests a medicine of dubious origin. Her scene with Ramon Nomar won her an AVN statuette, and XBIZ honored her as the best actress in a feature movie. "I just read it over and over and over again so I could understand the character and really portray who she is," Love told AVN of the role. "I love being in front of the camera and I love performing. I think porn has helped me realize how much I truly love acting, even just playing small parts-like the girl next door-I get to be this character.

Avi's stage name is derived for her real-life first and middle initials. "Avi" is pronounced "aww-vee" (the star herself suggests thinking of the pronunciation of the first part of "obviously" to remember). She enjoys hiking, considers doggie to be her favorite position, and likes to watch Netflix shows such as Orange Is the New Black.

Love announced her retirement from porn at the end of 2020.
