AJ Bailey, a gorgeous blue-eyed blonde with a master's degree, is a Vivid Girl for Vivid Entertainment, the world's leading adult film studio.

The well-traveled, well-educated and glamorous AJ earned her master's degree in anthropology and museum studies, but she decided to make adult movies because the poor economy in 2009 made it difficult to find a well-paying job in those fields.

As she joined Vivid as an exclusive contract actress she said: "I'm ready to go to work now, but just not in anthropology. I'm young, I'm hot and I'm awesome. I can always fall back on my education for a job one day, but with the recession, now seems the perfect time to enter the adult industry and with the best company."

She adds: "I don't think people realize how vital the adult business really is as a cultural phenomenon. When you think about it, the main function of humans as a species is to reproduce through sex, so we might as well do the sex part in style and for the most pleasure. It's a primal function and it's how we all get here. I believe it is healthy to embrace one's sexuality."

Originally from Hillsboro, IL, AJ grew up in suburbs of St. Louis. She was outgoing as a child and loved the attention she got from performing. "Some of my best memories are when I would put on plays and dance for friends and family," she recalls.

She was also restless as a young woman. "Many people where I grew up in the Midwest didn't even want to leave the state, but I couldn't wait to travel and so I dropped out of high school in my junior year and went to live in Australia for two years." She returned to America when she was 19 years old, finished high school and earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri. She then went on to the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, where she earned her master's degree. To finance her studies she earned money as an adult model.

When not making movies, AJ enjoys hanging out with friends and cooking. "I lived with Chinese and Indian people in Australia and learned a lot about their cuisines. I love cooking and have even dated a few chefs," she says. "In general I like guys who know what they want, who are respectful and have something good going for them."
