At age , Veronica Hart entered UNLV (University of Nevada, Las Vegas) on a scholarship and graduated with a Theatre Arts degree in 1976. As a professional actor, she performed in A Thurber Carnival and The House of Bernard Alba at the Kennedy Centre festival. Soon after, however, she decided to move to England and spent three years working as a model. After her modeling career came to an abrupt end, she returned home to Las Vegas and threw herself into repertoire theatre. A string of successful starring roles and favorable notices bolstered her confidence, spurring a desire to set off for New York City to make a mark. After a prospective mainstream work arrangement fell through, Veronica decided to do some live sex shows in front of theatre audiences and realized she enjoyed the attention-appearing in her first hardcore porn film Fascination (1980).
Following Fascination, she made several films with Leonard Kirtman AKA Leon Gucci. According to Veronica, "[he] had a reputation for fucking all his actresses, which he did with me." With these titles under her belt, as well as razor sharp acting chops and evocative appeal, she soon became one of the main stars of the early 1980's XXX industry. In 1981, she stood out with her performance in Amanda by Night, directed by Robert McCallum; quickly after starring in Chuck Vincent's Roommates (1981) co-starring Samantha Fox and Kelly Nichols.
Veronica stopped acting in porn films during 1984, switching from working in front of the camera to working behind it. She started her directorial work in softcore movies and programs like The Electric Blue Show on the Playboy Channel, but gradually moved to hardcore features. Her hardcore directorial debut was a scene for Candida Royalle subtitled The Pickup in A Taste of Ambrosia. From the mid-90s she worked exclusively for VCA under her real name of Jane Hamilton, directing comeback movies for both Marilyn Chambers and Ginger Lynn. During this same period, Veronica has appeared in a number of mainstream stage shows and films, as well as over 30 R-rated movies. One of her most visible roles being the judge in Paul Thomas Anderson's homage, Boogie Nights.
She was an active member of the University of Las Vegas Modern dance troupe for eleven years.
In 2010, she moved to Las Vegas to take care of her ailing mother and began working at the Erotic Heritage Museum. She also assumed directorial duties for the Marilyn Chambers biopic: Marilyn Chambers, Sex and Life after Porn for Gobos Film and Entertainment. Last reported in 2014, she had become a sex educator in China; an article in AVN magazine stated that Veronica has been instructing women through an arrangement with a chain of adult retail stores and clubs called Sediva Maison.
